MLK Weekend Events in Plant City
The Overhead Door Company presents the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration
weekend in Plant City. On Friday, January 15th, come see the Statewide High
School Step Team Competition from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at the Marshall High
School Gym, located at 15 South Maryland Ave in Plant City. On Saturday,
January 16th, come join the festivities of the MLK Parade from 1pm to 2pm. Then

Michael Jackson Tribute Benefit Concert
Michael Jackson Tribute Benefit Concert will be held at The Event Factory on January 15, 2010 beginning at 7pm. Donations from this event will be given to the charity Second Harvest Food Bank of Tampa Bay. Show will feature Cesar De La Rosa from "American Idol", "Michael Jackson impersonator" Danny Ware, and local talent to honhor the great Michael Jackson. Tickets are 25 dollars and are on sale now. The 30th Annual Brooksville Raid
The 30th Annual Brooksville Raid will be held at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation January 16th through 17th. It’s Florida’s Largest Civil War Reenactment. Enjoy excellent food concessions, horse drawn rides, Confederate and Union camps open to the public, 1860’s Period Vendors and a concert by the 97th Regimental String Band. Gates open at 9am and tickets are $6 for Adults and just $3 for Children. Children under 6 and Scouts in Uniform get in Free. Annual Lions Club Bluegrass Festival
The Annual Lions Bluegrass Festival will be held in Lake Wales, FL on January 22 – 24th, 2010. The event is sponsored by Bonita Springs Lions Charities, Inc. The event will feature food and beverages and a full line up of popular bluegrass bands. Entry donations are $5.00 on Friday, $16.00 on Saturday and $12.00 Sunday. An All Access pass for the entire weekend is available in advance for $30.00 prior to January 15, 2010. RV and tent camping are available. Nightly RV rates are $18.00 per night and tent camping is $5.00 per night. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Florida Lions Camp for the Visually Handicapped, a private, non-profit camp established and dedicated to serving the needs of youth and adults with visual impairments and other challenging disabilities.
