Dean Hedstrom Foundation for Melanoma Awareness

Event to raise $$ for Melanoma awareness and research. Dean Hedstrom was a local golf professional and instructor who died last April from Melanoma. His dream was to educate golfers, especially the juniors to the deadly sun rays resulting in Melanoma. 60,000 people each year are diagnosed with Melanoma and 8,000 of those die ! 9 Annual Ruskin Tomato & Heritage Festival

The Ruskin Tomato & Heritage Festival has always been a community event and this year is going to be no different. This year we are reaching out to all local artist young and old to audition to perform on our Rising Star main stage for the 9th Annual Ruskin Tomato & Heritage Festival in Ruskin May 1&2, 2010. This year we are looking for all ages and genres including Christian and Gospel Music to showcase over our two day event. Our theme this year is "From the Streets to the Stage" Come one come all.

The Downtown St. Petersburg Community Gears up for its 2nd Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life The Downtown Relay is set for May 14th-15th and will be a memorable community event with fun, food, entertainment and camaraderie for all ages. The Relay For Life is a celebration in honor of those touched by cancer. This event raises funds for the American Cancer Society’s programs of research, education, advocacy and service in an effort to reduce cancer deaths and incidence, and improve the quality of life for those in the fight against cancer.
